The Betrayal and Arrest of Jesus^(A)

⁴³ Immediately, while He was still speaking, Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a great crowd with swords and clubs, came from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders.

⁴⁴ Now he who betrayed Him had given them a sign, saying, “Whomever I kiss, He is the One. Seize Him and lead Him away safely.” ⁴⁵ So as soon as he came, he went to Him immediately and said, “Rabbi, Rabbi!” and kissed Him.
